The World Our Town‑Wide Hotel Aspires To

CHAPTER01Our Founding Vision
Before launching SEKAI HOTEL, we asked ourselves what kind of world we wanted to create through the framework of a hotel. The answer we arrived at was: a festival night.

When you think of a festival night, chances are you picture people smiling, feeling relaxed, and treating one another with warmth. It’s a time when kindness flows naturally, and barriers seem to fade away.
Locals and travelers. Japanese and foreigners. People with and without disabilities.
In our society, people come from all walks of life and hold different perspectives. But what if we could all come together and connect with the spirit of a festival night—treating one another with care, without judgment, and without borders?
At SEKAI HOTEL, we strive to build that kind of community.
CHAPTER02Our Initiatives So Far
At SEKAI HOTEL, in pursuit of a world with No Borders, we’ve focused on designing experiences that help our guests connect with the places they visit in a more meaningful way.
Rather than simply visiting famous tourist spots, our concept—“Jump into local everyday life”—encourages travelers to enjoy the unfiltered charm of each neighborhood and promotes genuine coexistence between local residents and visitors.

Through the SEKAI PASS, guests are welcomed as honorary “regulars” in town, receiving special perks at local shops and becoming part of the community during their stay.
With Social Good 200, a portion of each guest’s accommodation fee is used to support community-based social initiatives—such as giving local children opportunities to learn about international cultures.
We’ve also repurposed vacant houses throughout the area as guest rooms, encouraging travelers to explore the neighborhood on foot and naturally interact with the people who live there.
In all of these efforts, we aim to dissolve the boundaries between traveler and town, turning a simple stay into something more human, local, and lasting.
CHAPTER03The Future of SEKAI HOTEL
We are expanding the No Border vision beyond overnight stays.
For example, you’ll soon be able to invest small amounts to help preserve and revitalize the towns you love, or support local children and their futures.
Even if you can’t visit in person, you’ll have the opportunity to support places that resonate with you—as a “second hometown” to care about from afar.
